Mental Health: Local Engagement, Global Impact
Mental health is one of the great challenges of our time. It affects all age groups and social backgrounds – often hidden from view. As members of Lions Clubs International, we not only bear the responsibility but also the ability to make a difference.
According to the World Health Organization, today one in eight adults lives with a mental disorder. Among adolescents aged 10 to 19, it is one in seven. Since 2020, the number of anxiety disorders and depression worldwide has risen by more than 25%. These figures speak for themselves – yet behind them are real people: loneliness, suffering, stigmatization.
Together we can make a difference.
Because caring for mental health also means strengthening social cohesion, combating exclusion, and giving every person the chance to thrive.
That is why Lions Clubs around the world are committed to promoting mental health and well-being.
